Cornwall Earth March Day 8: Liskeard to Callington

March 20, 2019 by Dasher

I must apologise for slipping a bit behind with my Blogs; sometimes, I just can’t keep up with the pace of it all. We set off from Liskeard after a Rebellious gathering outside of Sherryl Morgan MP’s Office in the centre of town. We thought we’d pay her a courtesy visit as she has been a little less than supportive of Green thinking in the past, so we felt duty bound to make sure that she and her staff were aware of our presence in her constituency.

I was able to get to meet some of the Rebels from East Cornwall who have been so helpful in making our March up through Cornwall possible, with their local knowledge and for hosting us as we travel on our way to Westminster. Callington, Calstock, Liskeard Gunnislake and Tavistock XR, many of which are in their embryonic state, have been tremendous and we thank you all for your warmth, hospitality and commitment. Erika, Rebecca and all of your dear friends have worked so hard in supporting and co-ordinating the success of Earth March in this area and I don’t think it could have happened without you. A huge thanks and big hugs all round. I owe a great personal thanks to Kate and Andrew for the hospitality and sanctuary they provided in the midst of what has been such a full-on task in organising The March, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
